BRAC Bank signs 5-year deal with Heifer Bangladesh

BRAC Bank has signed a deal with Heifer Bangladesh for five years to facilitate livestock farmers businesses in rural Bangladesh, a press release said Saturday.

This agreement will enable BRAC Bank to finance the enlisted farmers of Heifer Bangladesh, which operates in Rajshahi, Sirajgonj, Tangail, Natore, and Kishorgonj.

BRAC Bank’s DMD and head of SME banking Syed Abdul Momen and Heifer Bangladesh’s country deirector M. Siddiqur Rahman were present in the agreement signing ceremony on behalf of respective organizations at the bank’s head office in the city.

Heifer Bangladesh will facilitate BRAC Bank in developing a customized product dedicated to livestock financing, helping the bank expand its financing portfolio in the growing livestock sector in the country. Heifer Bangladesh will also work on loan application requests, screening, and financial capacity development for smallholder farmers.

BRAC Bank’s head of small business West Nazrul Islam, head of small business  East Alomgir Hossain, head of MF and agriculture finance Tapos Kumar Roy, head of SME product team Azizul Hoq, head of agriculture frinance SM Saiful Islam, head of underwriting Ariful Islam, unit head, credit and portfolio analysis Shamsuzzaman,  project manager Forhad Ahmed , Heifer Bangladesh’s , director of program Ms. Nurun Nahar, associate director of finance Ishtiaque Ahmed,  business development and access to finance lead Jahangir Basunia were also present.
