A book featuring the life sketches of the country’s pioneering entrepreneurs was launched on Monday at the Ashulia campus of Daffodil International University (DIU), a press release said.
Former governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Saleuddin Ahmed attended the launching ceremony of the book, titled ‘Pathikrit Udyoktader Jeebonsangram’ (The Struggles of Pioneering Entrepreneurs), as the chief guest and while economist Debopriya Bhattacharya was present as the special guest.
Chairman of the Daffodil Group Dr Md Sabur Khan edited the book.
Families of the entrepreneurs, who featured in the book, attended the launching ceremony.
The book described the stories of Anwar Hossain, founder Chairman of Anwar Group, AK Khan of Khan Group, AC Abdur Rahim, founder of Rahimafrooz Bangladesh Ltd, Samson H Chaudhary, founder of Square Group, Abdul Monem of Abdul Monem Ltd, Syed Manzur Elahi of Apex Group, Latifur Rahman of Transcom Ltd., and Mirza Mohammed Ispahani of the Ispahani Group.
Founder of ACI group Anis Ud Dowla, Anwar Group Chairman Manwar Hossain, Akij Group MD Sk Bashiruddin Akij, PRAN Group Chairman Ahsan Khan Chowdhury also attended the ceremony.
Chairperson of Desh group, Rokeya Quder, creative and advertising genius and entrepreneur Geetiara Safya Chowdhury and author Anisul Hoque from Prothom Alo were also present.
