Bangladesh on Monday recorded the highest number of Covid-19 related deaths since the pandemic made landfall in the country in March last year.
The death toll climbed to 10,497 after fresh 112 fatalities were reported in 24 hours till 8:00 am Monday, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The country recorded 4,271 fresh cases of the coronavirus, taking the total tally to 723,221.
The country’s maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March that year.
