BRAC Bank has initiated a day-long national conference titled “EmpowerAbility: Powering Every Ability” in collaboration with the Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) to promote the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
The event began Wesnesday (11 December) at 11:30am at the Bangladesh International Conference Centre (BICC) and was supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the German development agency GIZ.
In his keynote address, chief guest Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, said, “Inclusion of persons with disabilities is not merely a policy matter but a fundamental human right that deserves our attention. We are at a pivotal moment where we can reshape our society.”
“It is crucial to ensure that every individual, regardless of physical ability or disability, has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” added the adviser.
